Have a look at your rear derailleur . It might need a bit of oil on the pivots . Sometimes the mech doesn't take up the slack in the chain .Rear gears are skipping on the road bike, especially when on the inner ring, so I'll need to have a look at that.
It's not done a massive amount of mileage, so not sure anything is in the region of worn / knackered. Looking at the cable tension would be a good first port of call.
