Good morning from an overcast and dull Suffolk. So much for the lie in having been woken at just after 8am by the council jackhammering a neighbour's path up to be widened and relaid. A large and very strong coffee has therefore been had.
I've already had to apologise to my step brother for completely forgetting about his birthday yesterday due to the Donington trip
No wheelie bin to be retrieved again this week as there's still hardly anything in there to be disposed of.
Just a little bit of food shopping for the next few day to be done and that's about all.

Is it International Council Noise Day? We've got them on the lawnmowers and the bin lorry today.

So the shutdown of Heathrow Airport and the substation fire as I understand it is a bit like Jurassic Park where someone has to run down to the bottom of the garden past all the dinosaurs and switch the power back on. Meanwhile there is a little boy stuck halfway up an electrified fence. I couldn't believe that people would dream up a system like that in reality!

Worked for Edison.

I popped out to get a watch battery, only to find everywhere was shut on a Monday: why doesn't one of them open? However, I got a coffee and cake plus tested the fuschia Raleigh before Sunday's retro ride out of Lincoln.

On the way back I passed someone practising for Easter Monday's World Coal Carrying Championships. No photo from today but men carry a 50kg sack of coal, women a 20kg sack:

The sun greeted the first morning of a weeks leave. Washing machine on belatedly due to the grotty weekend, then postie delivered parts for an adjustable plant stand for a circular window - lego bricks.
Ebike to and from Waitrose without incident, another cheap milk voucher but no use of the accompanying one re a cottage pie as I could not find them, not so much sold out more rather no obvious shelf space for them.
The sun had disappeared for the return, and only 6 in the shade.
