The forecast was for rain this afternoon but it didn't!
Seeded my lawn yesterday because of the damp forecast this weekend. Not had a drop.

It's been a grey, murky, cool and squelchy day here chez Casa Reynard. I think we got everyone else's rain.

Slept well and slept in. Haven't done very much at all, other than listening to the F1 "as live" on BBC sounds and doing some writing.

Had a bacon sandwich for lunch with some very nice Irish bacon, plus some fruit and a :cuppa:

I am now sat by the fire with another :cuppa: and eating an almond croissant.

I checked behind before reversing a big van once. It was a good job because there was a car parked right behind it. The van was a BMC Every ready van, it was a bit like an old phone box as once you were inside you forgot where the doors were. They were behind you. The mirrors showed nothing behind me. I would have reversed straight into it.

I almost reversed a tractor and trailer load of hay into a (BMC) Mini once. It had pulled up so close behind the trailer and because it was so narrow, I didn't see it in the mirrors until I heard them blow the horn.

A neighbour did reverse the wheels of a trailer up onto the bonnet of a Rover SD1 once. He stopped to make a right turn, the Rover had stopped behind him, and not being used to the tractor, put it into reverse by mistake. He got out and asked the driver of the car "what are you doing in there?!" Cost a lot of money to sort it all out.

How a simple 2WD Zetor had the traction and the torque to do that is unbelievable. One of those things you probably couldn't do again if you actually tried.

The nice weather has returned today after yesterday's washout.

My poetry reading seemed to go okay last night (I didn't get booked at least!) and I've got a copy of the locally produced book with my poem in it. So, I feel I'm a proper writer now that I've seen my name in print. I doubt the likes of J.K. Rowling would be impressed with my amateurish efforts but I have to start somewhere!

I had a nice forty mile ride this afternoon, I chose one of my hillier local loops as I need to get fitter.

Now out for my Sunday evening live music fix.
