They were talking about potholes on the TV and showed someone filling one with some steaming wet tar. Around here they use a very dry mix out of a plastic bag which won't last 5 minutes.

Looks a lovely day here, all be it cold. Popping into work for a couple of meetings this afternoon - fairly bust afternoon TBH. Need to be in one day next week as we've meetings with senior leaders, so I'll hobble across campus with my sticks and a cushion. I might end up with a lift as the Senior Manager I work with has health conditions and drives over (10 minute walk). I realised last night that I've lost alot of strength in my left leg - had to move my wife's car off and on the drive, and found it difficult to press the clutch. Going to need a fair amount of time on the turbo once I get the go ahead to get going again.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk. Coffee has been had and the trees the other side of the rail line indicate that it's a bit breezy out there.

All that needs to be done this morning is a little bit of food shopping for the next couple of days and then I may have a couple of hours out in the fresh air. The wind direction would make today an ideal day for a ride out for lunch, a couple of drinks and a train home, but I'm trying to be good as I'm out for the day on Wednesday.

Also, to all of the Mundaners who are owned by cats...

Happy St Gertrude's Day!

St Gertrude of Nivelles is the patron saint of cats.

Erm? Think cats might have been mis-sold regarding expectations in the eternal realm.
Their alleged patron saint might be a bit of a charlatan too.
Me too. I'm getting through tons of tissues. It seems to start up after couple of hours after being outside.

It's all the cats on here

The exam board I was chairing finished early so I took the opportunity for a lunch out and took the Vitus 797 I've currently got on eBay since I'd never actually ridden it further than the end of my road.

My conclusion? It rides beautifully on smooth surfaces but once the road surface goes a little potholey then the vibrations transfer through more than my 653-framed pink Raleigh. And the road surfaces in Wakefield/Kirklees are more than a little potholey.
