Boyne valley to Lakeland Greenway successfully cycled. Some small diversions added , total distance cycled about fifty miles.

Very nice route, good surface, old railway infrastructure to look at and all very well laid out. They're getting better at doing these greenways.

I'm pleased I drove to the start though as cycling from here and avoiding the busy roads would have added maybe an extra twenty miles and I'm not as fit as I want to be. Of course, I came back to the car and found a someone had parked a Porsche Cayenne thing really close in a way that made it really awkward to get out and because the Porsche is so huge and high, really restricted my view to pull out on the road again. I suppose from the lofty heights of a Cayenne, you don't notice mere superminis!

It was really cold today, my car told me it was 3C. :cold:

Wonderful supper of black pudding, fried onions, mashed potatoes and apple sauce made with Cottenham Seedling and Murfitt's Seedling apples. Oh yeah, and finished the last of the mulligatawny soup as well. :mrpig:

A lovely day of sunshine and light winds, but much colder than it looked, especially by the coast where a bit of mist and a chilly breeze lingered until late morning.

Got the bedding changed and in the wash before I went shopping and onto the whirlygig to dry when I got back. Then put a load of towels onto a long hot wash courtesy of the solar panels & battery while I went out again for another couple of hours. By the time I got home the bedding was almost dry so the towels went onto the clothes horse and I had a couple of the sausage rolls that had somehow made their way into my shopping basket as a treat.

If this good weather continues until next weekend, I may be able to start the anorak season with a trip to Silverstone.

We have a lot to answer for

Croydon has it's own set of problems. I worked there for a while.

Airports are like any other group of people, good things and bad things originate and conclude there. They do reflect some of a country's views. I can remember when American airports had a sort of welcoming service. Now, it seems we do everything we can to make people unwelcome and fearful of travel. We have a lot to answer for, as well.

I have started work on the Raleigh Detour 4.0, new seatpost and maybe a chain as well.
