Sci-fi is my go-to in terms of entertaining myself, albeit I much prefer space opera to dystopian-type stuff. But Fahrenheit 451 was one I've rather enjoyed. OTOH Margaret Attwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" just weirded me out. Not the subject matter, but just that it was very odd, and sort of seemed to stop in the middle of the story and leave a load of loose ends.

No kindle here. Reading glasses and a nice paper book, although that does become problematic at bath time LOL!

Like Orwells "1984", you have to go to the afterword and read between the lines.

Perhaps follow that with A Canticle for Liebowitz, or The Postman.

I've read neither, so will keep an eye out in the usual places where I obtain secondhand books. Ta for the heads up

Depends on your point of view, I expect.

And whether your glasses are clean or not?

Good morning from a cloudy but currently dry Suffolk. An early coffee has been had as today is the first of another three away days but I need to get a parcel up to the Post Office and into the system before I go. Breakfast will be had when I get back. The overnight bag has been packed and is by the front door, it just needs travel snacks to be added.
