Good morning from a dull, overcast and very breezy Suffolk. I think a warm coat will be needed for this weekend away. Coffee has been had and some porridge oats are currently soaking in milk ready to be nuked for breakfast.

The good thing about heading south today rather than north or west as I normally do is that the train connections at Ipswich are better timed allowing me to catch the 11:30 local train rather than the 10:30 and having an hour standing around at Ipswich. As a result there's a load of washing on the go and I'm having a lie in.

Billy bookcase looks to be repairable. Seems there were two issues that arose. The shelves sit on metal pegs and the part hole in the shelves for those pegs had unduly deepened at one end so paper bits soaked in wood glue stuffed into the holes.
The other issue is a clear design fault in that the base is three sided only with no base at the rear. The bottom shelf has consequently bowed to the rear. The back panel is nailed to that bottom shelf so had pulled out of the slot in the top.
Back panel refitted so far only with wood glue into the top. Now to find a piece of wood the right depth to make the fourth side of the base.

The old chap who was sat in front of me on the train died.
Oh my word. How did the train company deal with that. Was the train held till an ambulance arrived.
So, on the train, he boards at Blackburn and already looks a bit peaky, starts talking to Hover Fly but rapidly becomes incoherent, Hover and I manage to get that he’s going to the last stop and no one will be meeting him, then he starts mumbling, followed by a death rattle, by this time a nurse has joined us but can’t do much, he goes quiet and his eyes glaze over, he slumps to one side and that’s it. By now we’re on the main line into Preston, we tell the conductor and have to hurry for our last train so we don’t know what happened at Preston, but Real-time trains say the train was half an hour late leaving Preston.

We’re ok now, all a bit subdued, we Ulster birds are as tough as old boots really, not the first time Hover has seen someone die, the twins were a bit shocked, even though we tried to keep them away, but the boy-twin asking “Are you dying?” might have been a bit much.
