A little walk to collect to collect some dry cleaning. How mundane is that.
Anyone see an echo here.I am going mad i tell you.

It's been a grey, raw and not terribly pleasant.

I slept better, and treated myself to a little lie in. I've had a quiet day in spite of doing the necessary chores. Though I *am* making apple & blackberry jam to a) take care of some rather tired-looking Cottenham Seedling apples and b) make some space in the freezer. The blackberries were the last two bags of the ones I picked back in August. I am just doing the first set test to see where things are at.

Luncheon was two slices of wholemeal toast, one with salami cacciatore, one with this smoky cream cheese & cheddar spread that I picked up on YS a while back.

The cheese spread is quite nice, but no one in their right mind would ever think it is worth £2.75 for a tiddly little 120g tub. That puts it at £23 per kilo, which is more expensive than "Finest" parmesan! Of course, I only paid 69p. But when you look at it that way, it's a bit bonkers...

Why is it that I never remember that it's time to change the filters on my water jugs until AFTER I've just filled them?

Home building and contents renewal arrived this morning - it's gone up by 30% as they've removed the price guarantee that would match it to the price for a new customer. As a result the automatic renewal has been cancelled and I've found the same coverage for £10 than last year's price - with the same company

Not a lot else has been done - 2.5 hours out on the bike in the sunshine and surprisingly chilly breeze and that's about it.
This evening's hot chocolate is just about to be drunk and I may have a look at planning a route for Tuesday's day out.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
I had a trip to my parent's house today which had flooded a few weeks ago. There are still multiple driers all over the house and they're working. Some progress as it's finally drying out and now it's the sorting out how to replace the identified damaged furniture and next stages, which includes all of the flooring being replaced plus some kitchen parts and the bathroom which was ripped up by the insurer's work-people.

Also they appear to have written off his entire jazz record collection of 60+ years collecting, including many very rare records. It's the covers which have got slightly damp - 175 records to determine with the insurer what to do. I can see much attempted valuing needed. Alternatively the company who did the checking and clearing of damage share my lack of enthusiasm for jazz.
