I am looking at a Trek 920.
But my age and build are happier with flat bars
How awkward will it be to change?

I should have been clearer.

How awkward is it to change the bars on the bike.

Me?
I am what I am!

It is very easy to come a cropper. I always wonder why roads get treated but never the pavements.

I have a pair of ice gripper things from Mountain Warehouse but have never been able to get them to stay on my shoes.

Pulling old socks over your shoes works well.

I was wearing a pair of walking boots, don't think I've got socks that big!

Off to the vets for Cassie's check up shortly, I'll go by car.

Think the problem with pavements is the Local Highway Authority (County or unitary council) often have such a wide area to cover maintaining the vehicular highway is taking all the time. Think it would be better to make pavements a responsibility of parish councils.
Harrogate when North Yorkshire let it manage its highways had a pavement sweeper which could have a plough attached and a small trailer full of grit attached. I presume it either wore out or has been kidnapped to Northallerton by North Yorkshire. Such could be owned by a parish or a group of them and employed locally.

Not sure we've had any gritting. To be fair, we did have a lot of rain.

Made it to the office safely. I think think this is the coldest morning so far, and hopefully the last frosty one as temperatures are to reach the balmy heights of +4C today.

Pavements are fine early in the morning as they're frosty and crunchy. The problem starts later when they start to thaw.

An amazing red sky this morning.

I only have to work until 1 today.

19F here this morning, definitely the coldest.

Despite the end of the weather warning, there hasn't been much thawing and the thermometer that I left out on my balcony still shows -2.

I haven't really done too much after work. Bought a few bits and pieces whilst walking home and then cleaned the kitchen a bit. I have been sitting watching all the birds coming and going to the bird feeder that I have on my balcony.

Evri to the rescue today. My keyboard has been supported at one end by the bank security card reader in the absence of a "leg" until a pair of replacements popped through the letter box.
Car had another lunchtime outing to Asda to pick up what I should have yesterday but forgot. Seemed like everyone else had decided it was the place to go being reasonably ice free as it was the first time on ages I have had to go up and down the parking rows seeking an empty space.
