Asda on Saturday were offering 6 French Royal Galas for £1.19, Sainsbury's with a Nectar card 6 British ones for 99p (without the card £1.70).
Lunchtime snow clearance, was at least 4 inches deep and maybe more as the car aerial was not visible (had probably bent down). Its flexibility saved it as I started moving a huge chunk of snow off the roof only to see the aerial at a rather odd angle in it.

In the local greengrocer's shop, there is usually a label next to the produce telling you how many miles the item has travelled.

In my local greengrocer, he always writes the 'country of origin' on his labels. Mostly it's of British and often regional origin apart from the obvious stuff like pineapples, dates and so on.

Some snow when walking to work this morning but mostly the slushy kind and no real evidence of frost. Wearing my boots rather than shoes was a good call I think.

There also seemed to be a burst water main at the bottom of the main street with water oozing out of pavement (well, it had been leaking since before Christmas but had suddenly got much worse).

Another day of not really knowing what we should be doing at work and no supervisor has appeared yet. I do wonder if we will be allowed to go back to working at home when this training disaster is completed.

Seemed quite mild while walking home from work and most of the snow has gone from the roads and pavements. I took an alternative, slightly longer road home for a change so didn't get to see if they have fixed the water leak.

Soup consumed and kitchen tidied up. I had popped out to get something from the car and it definitely is freezing now so could be another icy walk to work. Three more nights of this according to the forecast.

Time to relax for the evening.
