Looks like Sh1tty Fibre will be round this way on Wednesday making a complete mess of the footpath. When I got home from this morning's ride there were a load of cones with a 'Please do not park within the area of these cones' notice stuck to each one. As the first one is right by the back bumper of my car it's outside the covered area so I'm not moving

This evening's hot chocolate was made a bit late and has only just been finished.
A much needed 2 hours out as planned this morning. No set route, just head out and come back making it up as I went along. Still some frost in the shadows but no ice on the roads, bitterly cold and bright sunshine - bloody lovely.
Home for a mug of coffee then on with the overalls and play at being a mechanic while setting up the new toy. Somehow I got the saddle height set within 5mm and the bar angle within a few degrees by eye last night. Hoping for another day like today so I can get out for a proper test ride with 4 & 5mm allen keys in my pocket for on the go adjustments.

If they're anything like the last lot we had here, they'll hit at least one car causing damage into the £1,000's. Hit the gas main at least once, plunge the area into darkness every other day, and hit the water main.
Possibly all three at the same time, in the same hole.

Sound like fiber optic cable installers in The States. I would regale the office with tales of their misadventures, almost daily.

They contract the work out, and then the contractors get someone else in, who may get someone else to do the actual work.
At which stage, when the work is being done, you just want them gone.
