I had a fairly lazy day today. I had meant to fit in a morning ride but didn't, partly because it was raining a little and mostly because my mum had a list of things for me to fix around the house.

After dinner, I was too full to ride. I did detour to the beach while driving home again and went for a walk. Now back to base and my plan to meet someone for a drink has been cancelled, which is convenient as I can't really be bothered! A relaxing evening will be had.

Had the obligatory...and very welcome turkey leftovers in gravy with chips and garden peas for tea. Delicious, fabulous....

Grandkids are spending 3/4 of the day at their mums, they'll be back in half an hour, no doubt very tired.
A very quiet day...and it's been heaven 😀 nice just to relax, dogs had two walks, we've watched a film and just sat back for a change.

It's been a raw, murky, misty and drizzly day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept reasonably well. Chose to sleep in rather than head out into town to see what's to be had in the sales, as I'm really tired after all the "doings" of late. Quite frankly, apart from maybe a onesie and some more winter socks, I don't really need anything. I'll go tomorrow instead, and then I can drop into Waitrose to see if they've any cranberries.

Morning was spent doing chores. I also undertook a brief bicycular bimble to deliver a Christmas card in reply to the one that landed in my letterbox late on Tuesday. Everything out was soggy, squelchy and soaking wet.

A luncheon of some festive cheese pastries, fruit and a :cuppa: was had.

This afternoon's task was deboning one of the two turkeys I picked up on Tuesday evening. The meat is in the freezer and the carcass is currently simmering with veggies for stock. I still have two thirds of a drawer's worth of space.

Lovely supper of beetroot soup, then a sandwich with the pan-fried turkey trimmings, stuffing, cranberry sauce & mayo, and a helping of apple crumble and custard to finish off.

A quiet evening is planned.

Time for a :cuppa: and MOTD

We bought some excellent, so-fresh-they-had-just-stopped-flapping, plaice straight from the fisherman on Tuesday, intending to have them today. But it seemed a shame to let them get less fresh and had them for Yule dinner with peas carrots and new potatoes . Pork and all the trimmings today.

Feast of the Seven Fishes.

As hoped, I managed to get out for a couple of hours this morning to get in a festive 50k despite the miserably grey & damp conditions. This was followed by a shower & shave before heading off to mum's for Ch****mas part two - presents and yet more over eating with everyone attending and behaving themselves.

Bring on whatever passes for normality on Friday.
