I was just thinking! I don't often!
A friend of my wife used to run a cycle shop. I asked her in the past on how they stocked their shop and she said that they got their bikes on a sale or return basis. The main cycle shop in my town was located near the town's main employer and must have done a roaring trade. I was wondering if most of the bikes were bought on a pay weekly basis rather than bought outright due to their cost? I think my dad paid cash for my bike as they never bought things on the never never.

My dad bought his first new Claud Butler on a pay weekly basis.

It got pinched and was later recovered by the police when they raided a garage and found loads of bikes all painted black and because dad knew his frame number he could claim it.

This was after various telling offs by his mum for being silly paying as much as he did for his bike.

That he bought from Bob Stokes in Coventry if I remember how the story goes

Good morning from Suffolk where it's another dull, grey, misty and quite wet underfoot start to the day.

Coffee has been had with a couple of the sausage rolls I couldn't manage yesterday. I'm having a relaxed start to the day and also hoping to get out for a couple of hours on the bike before it's back round mum's for Ch****mas part 2 with my sister, brother in law, niece & nephew in attendance as well this time.

@Marchrider - bike turbo. We've several that need looking at and this was no. 2 of 4.

Gruesome bit: it took the nail off, sliced and crushed the end of the finger but apparently not the tendon (they initially thought one was severed) and importantly wasn't cut to the bone. The skin graft is to re-build the end of the finger and we will see how much is left. Sore though. Very sore.
OUCH!

Pictures are most definitely NOT required.

I've been given 2 dates for scans in January. One of them should make me glow in the dark.

Are they feeding you Ready Brek?

Helicopter is the police, the plane, an Airbus A-321, headed for Luton Airport.

Those are empty skies.
The roads near/in Guildford were about as quiet at 2am last night; just my wife and i driving over there in response to an alarm call from my father-in-law, who'd had his 3rd fall in a week.
He got him sorted - he was okay (otherwise this wouldn't be in mundane news!).
Got home just after 3am, and I wasn't amused when the cats woke me up at 6. Fed them, and had another 2 hrs of zzzz.

Rang him this morning, and he's bright as a button with no residual aches. He's had about 15 falls this year, so 3 in a week is an escalation; it's amazing he hasn't broken any bones in these falls. But probably time to re-evaluate his living arrangements.
