Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
@Marchrider - bike turbo. We've several that need looking at and this was no. 2 of 4.

Gruesome bit: it took the nail off, sliced and crushed the end of the finger but apparently not the tendon (they initially thought one was severed) and importantly wasn't cut to the bone. The skin graft is to re-build the end of the finger and we will see how much is left. Sore though. Very sore.

ordered food. 30 minutes

A grey and mild Christmas Day here chez Casa Reynard.

Santa called overnight and left a collection of Paul Warwick photos, a Grumpy Cat calendar and some spendables for me, a big box of Dreamies and a catnip toy for Madam Lexi, and a tin of fancy biskits, a pot of hyacinths and a miniature art deco bronze for the parental.

My friend Linda came over before lunch for a cup of tea and a chinwag. Then this afternoon I did a combo of chilling and puttering around in the kitchen.

The result of which was a lovely Christmas dinner of roast guinea fowl, roasties, a bacon-wrapped stuffing terrine, cranberry sauce, steamed green beans and spiced glazed swede. And there was Xmas pud for afters. It was bloody lovely, but am a bit stuffed. :mrpig:

Been missing for a few days.

On Sunday I got my right hand index finger sliced and crushed by equipment I was looking at.

Cue a dash to the A&E with what was left of the finger, x-rays, iodine and a move to the hand surgeon.

Monday I had surgery and a skin graft.

I'm now recovering and am back for a progress update on Friday, with probable further operations.

I'm right handed and in a full cast. No riding for some time at least.

Ouchie!

Mend quickly. Healing vibes being sent from here xxx :hugs:

@Marchrider - I pointed at the part on a smart turbo that needed adjustments and my hand got sucked in. Wasn't even touching it.

Big lesson learnt.

And typing one fingered with my left hand is a pain.

Credit to the surgeons though - during surgery they offered a skin graft to save as much as possible. I'm hoping it's not too bad.

Apparently some don't agree to one and prefer to lose more of a finger than have the skin graft recovery and subsequent operation/s needed . Me: I said save as much as you can and they're hopeful they did.

Back online when I'm feeling better

Sorry to hear about your accident.
It sounds like the equipment needs a guard on it. Imagine if it was a young child just being curious?
