I ignored Twitter's repeated demands to enter my date of birth for months until it locked me out, so then I entered one. Now it's gone back to demanding that I give it my DoB every time.

Yep 'twatter' has become a money making exercise and collecting your personal data is part of that for 'targeting ads' at you. I wonder if many more are like me in that if something is advertised 'at' me I won't buy it.

My hospital consultant friend says it's considered modern best practice to get people home again asap. It reduces the risks of picking up some of the infections that are always doing the rounds in hospital and it has also been shown that patients generally recover better in their own home.

There is some sense in that I suppose but not sure about recovering better at home. I have too much experience unfortunately and got home mostly without too much delay but just enough to be comfortable. It will also depend on home circumstances.

Do you mind me asking, how far apart were those operations?. I think the Patient may be headed towards his second hernia repair. Last time he stayed in for two nights after the operation.

About six months apart but the second one was a simple belly button one and a bit easier.
Edit to add I no longer have a belly button. The surgeon did ask and I said I was not bothered either way.

A dry but windy day and still fairly mild.
Cleared out a bit of one of my sheds. All sorts of potentially useful stuff I know I will never use but I cannot bring myself to chuck out tools. Even the set of Whitworth spanners which may be of use to somebody but I know I will never need.
This is in addition to the the main tool box which has nearly every spanner known to man except for the 10mm ones which seem to vanish as well as multiple screwdrivers.
A large breast drill which used to be borrowed by a guy who repaired wooden boats but now superseded by battery powered drills.
How on earth did I manage to collect so many hammers all different and all for different uses?
A felling axe and a couple of hand axes but I no longer burn wood so surplus to requirements.
I did give away a pickaxe, mell (for fence posts)and a 15lb hammer to a neighbour.
