Coincidentally, I am sharing the sofa with a fart-arsed Siamese cat.

Somehow managed to cram all the bits that had been a sofa into the car along with a few other pieces of junk and disposed of them at the Council site, got home, changed and went out for a bike ride. Since then I've done absolutely nothing except have tea and order a new door mat (Ikea Sindal if you're interested).

Test ride completed a shade under 7 miles so looks like yesterday's fettling is ok.
First cuppa brewing
Light cloud and a few small blue bits

Morning.
Grey and damp here. Might be drizzling.
I went for a ride with my friends yesterday. I took my Raleigh Clubman as it's the only bike I've got which has mudguards. We were expecting a lot more water about seeing that we almost had 2 inches of rain the previous day. There were a few puddles around but not many. When we got to Lacock we found that both bridges were closed due to flooding. Some motorists ignored the signs and ploughed through creating huge amounts of spray. We were able to cross by using the raised footpaths. The sun came out for a while and it warmed up a bit. On the way home , about 3 miles from home my ride came to a halt by a loud bang! My rear tyre went down. I've got to investigate what it was. That s now the second ride in a row that I have ended up with a flat rear tyre. The last one was a slow puncture caused by a tiny thorn. 10 miles covered.

back home minus the car.Someone hit us today he came flying out of a side street onto a main road and whack. So one paramedic, four firemen and five police, came to the scene it also seems we made to local radio show.Postman not a scratch just knocked my knee, but Mrs P seatbelt has done some right bruising.Got to say HIS insurance have been brilliant already and he also owned up.Mrs P in bed Postman is having a beer.Goodnight all.

Hopefully a 'driving without due care and attention' charge will be heading his way.

The sun rose above the hills opposite at 0730 this morning but now seems a bit cloudy.
Might take the trike out for a gentle birl tho' the doctor I saw did not seem to approve in the meantime.
I don't think he quite understood the kind of cycling I mostly do nowadays tho' I do admit to tackling some hard bits recently.
The trouble is that I am surrounded by hills in all directions and some exertion cannot realistically be avoided unless I drive the 12 or so miles each way to Loch na Keal which is infested with wildlife bampots.

Apparently all baggage was being searched on a recent ferry to Mull. No reason given.
My car was searched at Craignure a couple of times and I was told they were concerned about empty petrol cans. I do know of somebody [a retired chief fire officer] who bought jerry cans of petrol in Oban as it was so much cheaper than his nearest pump on Mull.

A very belated good morning from a cloudy and slightly damp Suffolk - I seem to have missed all the wetness due to a late night and a very good night's sleep. It also means that the first coffee of the day has not long been finished and breakfast will be lunch instead.

Very odd when I did wake up in that there was almost zero background noise - normally there's usually the clanking of container movements drifting up from the dock, traffic noise from the A14 and the like, but today it was almost as quiet as it is at Chr***mas when the port shuts down and road traffic is very much lighter. Just the tickover of a train at the holding point and that seemed much quieter than usual.

I think another couple of hours out this afternoon will be had while it stays dry and the winds are nice and light.
