I'm switching on every available light when I get to work prevent me getting chronic SAD during the eclipse.

Watching you change would be interesting as it happens! :giggle:

Is THAT what this pit of hellish suffering is called??

I've put the video camera on charge to record the eclipse.

An alternative would be a medium wave receiver as here.

Get a medium wave receiver
tune it to a station you can sometimes hear at night
see if you can hear it during the eclipse.

Mine is tuned to 810kHz and I can't currently hear Radio Scotland, although I could about 30 mins ago.

(later edit)

Quite interesting,

Radio Scotland became quite audible ~ 0923, later with a traffic report in Glasgow heard and an interview with a woman who was (I think) reflecting the image of the Sun onto her roof. There was fading in and out, as was experienced by those listening to the pirate radio stations in '60s.

By 0940 it was barely audible

The sun is now visible through the cloud with a bit taken out of it.
