Fresh back from a trip to the dump...
How come people are throwing things away that I'd like to take home?
It's supposed to be a recycling centre and it's not allowed

It was a health & safety one, just to renew my existing card which is about expire. I've had them since they first came out years ago.

The ubiquitous H&S. Our lot all have CSCS cards too (various types) and have all had to suffer the H&S test.

Annoys the hell out of me. Last time I went to a dump someone was getting rid of slabs which I needed. He was about to transfer them from his car to mine when the staff there had a dicky fit and wouldn't allow it. In hindsight we should just both have driven to the other side of the gates and done the exchange there.

Hestercombe cancelled. Gym induction turned into a full blown work out. Have collapsed in a café in town before I can even think about cycling home.

They've had spectacularly good weather in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

This year was good, but not quite as good as the other three.

In 2012, when I didn't ride, it lashed down.

Do you know that bit in Erin Brockovich, where the long-suffering biker boyfriend hears the noise of the V-twins, looks up, sees all his mates off on a jolly, and feels the inexorable draw of the open road calling him again? That's kind of how I felt on Sunday, round lunchtime.

I find it's working if I simply don't buy any. Getting weighed and having my body fat estimated this morning has certainly helped my resolve!

Oh heck, my lovely neighbours have got a hot tub and it's rather noisy.

How do i tell them that i can't sit out in the garden and listen to that churning away ?
