We changed the boiler to a modern condensing one so it had to go elsewhere (the chimney is in the centre of the house) so we had the old fireplace free.I'd miss mine. Love a proper fire
I designed the woodburner installation and sourced all the components (including the stove itself) then we employed a HETAS certified guy to commission the stove, luckily the chimney passed the 'smoke test' so we didn't have to shell out for a flue (and the fireplace hadn't been 'butchered' too badly when the back boiler and gas fire were installed @35yrs before.)

I put shorts on this morning thinking it was warmer than it is. It must have been colder last night than the previous night. Anyhow, I'm going to tough it out until the sunlight warms my footsies up.

I started a really boring thread about HSBC sponsoring British Cycling. It was as dull as dishwater (duller, actually) but then got interesting. I enjoyed the debate, which is progress and a massive relief as I've been avoiding any kind of confrontation for years.
