Still raining.

Thats good as the drought is due back soon.
Lovely sunshine here, and it has been all afternoon. Just saying.

I accidentally walked 20 miles on Wednesday!!

I was in the pub on Tuesday, and got talking to an American lady who was over here on holiday by herself. I noticed her as she clearly liked her beers and was taking notes of what she was drinking (that sounds like my sort of woman right there!).
Anyway, it turns out, she is walking the newly created John Muir way, a 134 mile path across Scotland from Helensburgh to Dunbar.... All by herself, unaided, not for any charity or anything, just for herself

We had got on like a house on fire, so I agreed to meet her the next morning as she set off, but I was curious to see the new 'path' (in reality it is largely made up of existing paths) so I joined here for a bit..... Or so I thought.

I kept on saying 'I'll turn back at that next corner, I'll turn back at that piece of forest, I'll turn back, I'll turn back, until..... I ended up halfway, in the middle of nowhere.
This was to be her longest stretch, with it being 18 miles from Balloch to Strathblane, with only the promise of a bus home at Strathblane, so, I decided 'What the heck?' I was already half way so would have hurt myself anyway.

After taking a wrong turning near to Carbeth, the 18 miles became 20 and we eventually got to Strathblane, me, still in my trainers and with sod all in my bag (luckily the weather was kind to us, so nothing was needed really).

I was persuaded to stay at the hotel over night, so we had a nice evening in the bar.

I last saw her yesterday morning and we are to meet again next Saturday in Glasgow for a bit of a pub crawl!!

Of course the spacing between Monets waterlilies and the bridge at Givenay is perfectly balanced in his interpretation of the real life garden

Yes, I know the one.....

The juxtaposition of the two shopping trolleys really gets you thinking about the use of available space with the cone adding a striking splash of contrasting colour to draw the eye in.
