I have nowt to do*. I stayed late the last two days getting stuff done for today's management meeting .... which doesn't seem to be happening. Not that anyone's told me
I even did my filing

Half moons. It has been a busy morning, the sun has disappeared behind greyness and the wind has now picked up. No doubt if I start to clear out my garage as I had planned it will tip down.

You'll need a special feeder as the seeds are tiny and will just pour out of ordinary feeders like water.

My lot are going through one suet block every couple of days; when they're busiest feeding their chicks, it's two or three per day!

My black pepper grinder need refilling this morning.
Once I'd completed the task, I accidentally put the grinder and the pot of peppercorns into the wrong cupboards ie: the grinder went in the right hand cupboard and the top up pot went where the grinder lives. No problem though, I just swapped them back to the correct place.

The new nijer seed feeder arrived this morning. I finally got round to hanging it up about half an hour ago. Thus far, the birds are suspicious but judging by the silken strand I can see glistening in the sunshine, a spider has already used it an an anchor for the beginnings of a web. That's one brave spider since I believe that all the song birds who visit my garden are omnivores...

Edit: I also got a tray to go underneath it which will hopefully save a small fortune in seed.

I bought a new bird feeder 2 days ago, filled it up with seed and haven't seen a bird on it yet, I suppose it'll take a couple of weeks for them to find it.

I does take them a while to find a new larder. Also, there's plenty of wild berries and edible stuff that nature is providing. Once that runs short i winter, they'll soon remember where your feeder is!

Drat drat double drat.... I think I've lost my purse... Not sure how... But the bag it is normally in was dangling out the top of my pannier. I was standing near by my bike.

What's the procedure... I'm someone who regularly misplaces it but has never totally lost it before...

There was a huge commotion going on in one of the ash trees at the bottom of the garden this morning. A row had broken out between two Crows and one or two Magpies. All of the Magpie chatter soon brought in reinforcements from all around and soon there were eight giving the Crows an earful. Wood pigeons also flew in and took up sentry position in surrounding high points. Whilst all of this racket was going on a pair of Goldfinches were happily sat in the top of the ash tree singing away. Eventually the pair of Crows gave up and flew off.
My wife saw two Crows attack and kill a Magpie where she works last year.
