I could have had a lift home this evening because of the weather but I completely misjudged it looking at the rainfall radar and thought I had enough of a gap to get home in.

I had just enough time to get well away from any shelter when the rain tipped down, the lightning flashed away and the thunder boomed.

Interesting ride back. To top it off the LBS called while I was on the road to say the parts I want for the rear hub on the Dawes are no longer available from Shimano or the aftermarket. Looks like I might need to plan for new wheels.

Fun being caught on high, open ground in such conditions!

I still don't know if I mean lightly raining or raining lightly. Anyway that's what it's doing here. I expect our turn for the thunder will be just as I'm going out..!

I was right. Sudden darkness, then rain, thunder and lightning ⚡
I dashed round to close the curtains before I left. All the gutters overflowing in five minutes and the main road was like a river.

It is a proper storm here, right overhead and very loud, your turn will come
Yay, a right proper thunder storm.
When we came out of the Pilates class we were wowed by a set of spectacular fork lightning and luckily the rain had nearly stopped.

Pah. Grrrr. It's darker than a ninja in a coal mine here all of a sudden, we're awaiting Potsy's thunder
It lasted for quite a long time when it came!

Some of the folks in the cycling club who commute posted on fb how much they enjoyed being out in the storm enjoying the show despite being soaked through. Quite exhilarating they said.

Yes.
