Afternoon everyone.

I have decided that technology is starting to pass me by. At the weekend, we purchased a landline phone in anticipation of getting a VOIP line on Thursday when our satellite broadband is installed (keep up at the back there...) With me so far?

The landline phone can Bluetooth connect to 2 mobile phones which means it can use their mobile signals to make and receive calls. (still with me?)

This means that the problem I have had for the past 2 months of having to have the mobile phone (which is not meant to have a signal anyway) in 1 position and always connected to the mains (it allows the phone to maximise the reception it receives) on a suction cup soap tray (from IKEA) attached to the laundry room window in a certain position at a certain angle (and being in the laundry means often not actually hearing a phone call) could have been resolved 2 months ago by having these handsets. :heat:

I can now answer the mobile phone using the landline cordless phones (and make calls as well)...
It also has a range extender as well which given the size of the garden could be exceptionally useful.

Oh well, it's not as though anyone other than my husband actually talks to me anyway.

As for internet, well it should become more reliable from Thursday afternoon. I can't wait. :stop:

And all of this is useful why? Well my mobile phone contract for AUD $50pm has unlimited and totally free calls to the UK (both landline and mobiles) which means I would not have had to stand in the freezing cold laundry at a really odd angle leaning over the kitchen sink (double sink with 6 foot long drainer) yelling into the phone on speakers.

I think it all translates to ringing home would have been much easier if I had known these landline phones existed!
