Notorious. The Avenger was sold as a Plymouth Cricket in these parts. Especially floor pans, and fenders. Our climate is such that the roads are salted .

I'm going back into the early 1970's and if I remember rightly my workmates car was a Hillman Minx, a lot of cars at that time had the rot problem, I remember someone in the block of bedsits I was living in taking his Austin 1100 for its MOT and being told the only thing worth keeping was the battery the rest of it was rotten

Well i enjoyed my lunch today with my friend after a slow 5 mile dog walk in the hot sun.

We ordered 2 dishes as we both wanted to try them then went halves. We had a fully packed fishcake and chilli jelly and a chorizo and cheddar scotch egg. Both were delicious and superbly cooked.

Hop and Huffkin if you are passing @Salty seadog and they do brunch eggs every which way.

I'm guessing you aren't a Methodist, Hils.

I'm back from my mother in law's 2nd 90th birthday party. This time it was in the Folkestone Methodist church hall. Sadly no booze was allowed. I might be having a beer now to recover.

Apparently at the heart of her Methodism is that you are banned from having anything you might enjoy. Blow that for a game of soldiers.
I was raised a Methodist, as it was close to home, and neither of my parents were close to going to church at that time. Less strict in the States about booze and such, I guess. It never really took. I became an Episcopalian after leaving home for university. Around here, High-Church-Anglo-Catholic. Usually, where I am, you are either Roman Catholic, or an Evangelical.

My wife's upbringing was a bit like Jeanette Winterson's as described in her book Oranges are not the only Fruit. She was expected to go to church three times on a Sunday and there was a lot of physical and mental punishment. She is a strong person, as she had to be to survive but it negatively affected two of her brothers. She found it spooky going back to the church of her youth that she hadn't visited for over 40 years.
I am so sorry to hear that. My family lived up the street from a family that was Pentecostal. Their children were not allowed to play with us, they weren't even supposed to talk to me.

I'm definitely giving it a go, the scotch eggs sound good.
