I just caught the end of a clip on TV saying that most people benefit from exercising outdoors rather than in the gym, it had something to do with the way that our brains are wired, our animal ancestry. For my point of view it seems that is the way my brain is wired, whether I am out walking or cycling I am constantly listening and looking around, especially over hedgerows. It stimulates my brain, the what's that curiosity kicks in and it gets my brain thinking.
The idea of joining a gym has never appealed to me I think I would soon get bored.

We've got Sparrows that nest/roost in the Ivy up the side of the house, often have 40+ of the little 'peckers' on the tree that has the feeders.

They're almost like aerial 'Meerkats' in the way they post 'Sentries' whilst the others chuck seed everywhere feed

I've tried joining a gym in the past, or going to the nearest leisure centre to use their equipment, but it bores me and I give up. Even listening to music or podcasts. At least with going out for a run jog, even if I get lazy part way round and end up walking it, I've still got to get home, and I've still had some fresh air and nature.

It's all quiet in the garden at the moment. The woodpeckers stop visiting once their chicks leave the nest and won't return until winter starts to bite. I've not seen the goldfinches for a while, which is unusual, but the sparrowhawk had become a daily visitor so the two could be linked...

I much prefer exercising outside but find it's significantly more effective at the gym as I'm less likely to get distracted and more likely to push myself. I've not been for ages as I've got a couple of health issues to knock on the head but I'm looking forward to going back.

As of today, mainland UK has a brand new National Coordinate System. OSGB36(15) uses a new adjustment of the good 'ol ETRS89 system.

If you use GNSS equipment you need to check out your new .CSCS and .GEM files today as the OSGB36(02) Coordinate System you used on Friday will give you different results today as the Active Monitoring Stations used for both old and new have had their positions adjusted.

What fun!
Does this mean that all the OS coordinates for the UK have now changed? I'm only asking because I've only recently got round to getting the whole of the UK on 1:25000 scale. It would be annoying if they were all out now.
