Morning. It's 40th Welding Anniversary Day today.

I must say that my view on life seems to have altered a lot since yesterday. I would normally be looking out of the window onto a grassy play area surrounded by houses but today there are waves crashing against rocks. Either the water levels have risen drastically or we have moved. It is the latter, we are staying in a small holiday cottage. Small in both senses of the word, a short stay and the cottage is small being cheese shaped, not Edam or Gouda but normal off the shelf cheese. At the sharp end I can raise both arms and touch the walls.

I just went to the shops with one of yesterday's socks lodged between my trousers and the back of my knee. I was already half way up the road when I noticed it. Removing it in the street seemed a bit tricky so I chanced it and got back. It's still there. That wouldn't happen with shorts.

Fudge update.................
Having realised that my attempt at fudge wasn't going to set,i went about trying to rescue it.So i put the mixture in the microwave for two minutes to slacken the mixture up,then i put it back into the pan and boiled again for a few more minutes.
This time i tested the mixture in a glass of ice cold water,and when the mixture turned solid in the water i took off the heat and left to cool.Then i stirred until the mixture thickened up (which it did this time)
The resulting fudge is quite crumbly but perfectly edible,certainly better than it was.

No, we went in for coffee and cake, picked up some nice pots to redo my house plants and decided to get some bulbs whilst we were there.

During this year we have cut down and dug up a lot of plants which have taken over and looked a mess so we are getting rid of them and adding annuals for some colour this year and perrenials for next year. The garden is work in progress but looking better already.
