It's getting rather warm and humid here.

I'm off to spend money on binoculars in a camera shop recommended by @coffeejo. This could prove expensive but worth it as we are off to Westhay this afternoon with Snipe. I am bird watching ( i am having to take a book to tell me what i am watching ) and Jo and Snipe are photographing. I am taking my bike so i can get around all the hides.

I've checked my bank account and, assuming they've got it in stock, I can get the telephoto lens I've been oggling on their website.

Also, if you don't mind stopping on the way to the reserve, I've spotted a good walk along the river that will bring us out near the car park. It's about two and half miles so will make up for the bits of the reserve I can't visit thanks to my four-legged friend.

Definitely worth getting out some cooler bedding.
I completely agree. I only seem to remember when I'm absolutely shattered and don't have the energy to wrestle with sheets and blankets.

I hope you find a pair that you like and which are not too expensive and also that you get to use them later.

Getting there, one ride at a time.

I have just popped home and my new speed counter thing has been delivered.
Fixed it to handlebars the wrong way round, had to cut the cable ties.
Wouldn't register my wheel going round because I did not have the sensor close enough.
Hopefully journey home will be more productive.

Argh, the old portable air con unit we have at home started playing up last night. Decided I might as well just double check it all over before I chucked it. It would run for 15 minutes then shut down as it was too hot. Unscrewed all the covers and found the lower heat exchange absolutely caked in thick dust (no filter on this part). Then thought the 'hose' might be too long so checked that and found too much 'extension' hose within the main hose, so cut that out and taped over the internal joins.

Bingo, it's up and running well again. The delights of a newer home that doesn't cool down in the sun. Had the unit over 10 years now.
