Currently very unimpressed with the Automobile Association!

My parents are on their way back from Devon and broke down at about 1 this afternoon. The two patrols that have attended so far have done their best but failed to effect a repair and it sounds like the call centre couldn't find their arse with both hands. Current ETA of a recovery vehicle is 8.40pm - nearly 8 hours after the initial breakdown.

Update: They have been picked up at the time stated and are on their way. ETA at home 10.30 to 11pm which I think is rather on the optimistic side from where they were but we'll see.

My siblings and I are going to sort out unloading the luggage for them when they finally arrive.

We walked from Whaley Bridge to Furness Vale along the canal towpath.

This necessitates crossing the canal via a footbridge at one point to continue the journey.

To avoid the stress or unnecessary anxiety amongst you caused by not knowing, I can inform you that the bridge is number 37 on the system.

Compared to Denmark the German cycle paths are crap.

Denmark has its share of parp cycle paths, especially on roads where they don't exist.
