Morning.

First to have the gull poo removed from my car, then off to collect the Merlump. We may stroll down to Leicester Riverside Festival later and follow that with a meal at a Turkish restaurant.

When we went for a walk through Thorpeness nature reserve yesterday all we could hear were the songbirds, and a single cuckoo in the distance. I haven't heard a cuckoo for years.

The B&B we stayed at had a lot of starlings in their back garden, a few years ago there were loads around here, now they are very rare so I get quite a thrill from seeing some.

The gulls were quiet this time.

My news is I slept the whole night through and only woke at 7:20

I needed that after the previous night's awful sleep! And I can't remember the last time I slept right through either!

I have heard plenty of cuckoos around me at home but yet to hear one here in Somerset.
