Hopefully there will be a new buzz instead:okay:

Is there the option to go back to your current age group in the future? I never understand why some schools seem to leave staff in the same position and others swap them around every year. I know someone who moved to Early years this year after years of doing the literacy support in the school. In that school rather like the kids finding out in the summer term who they will have the following year on a particular day, the teachers seemed to have the same sort of day when they were told if they were staying in the same position or swapping. I can understand they do things for a reason, as my friends daughter was in year 5 in that school and they decided to keep the same teachers with the pupils because they are apparently a difficult year.

It's all going to take a bit of settling down and adjusting time. I have my own cupboard of files and resources which I'll have to leave behind for the person who is having my job. I'm going to have to go through it and decide what I want to keep, what I want to leave behind or discard. All the useful phonics and reading stuff I've gradually collected and created will have to be left but I'll have to organise it a bit.

I'll only get to move back if other TAs from higher up the school leave and they get replaced by an Early Years TA. Unfortunately the only people who look like they might leave are already in Early Years.

Have you had a day to pop in and see what they are doing in Early Years... especially as it's nearing the summer term when they are moving onto more advanced stuff (maybe your resources:okay:) in readiness to move up a year. Hopefully some of your resources will still be relevant and a new cupboard of resources to organise and get to your liking?

I'm going to get lots of hand over time and hopefully some training. The resources in Early Years are all shared, I think. I won't be putting myself out to take over other people's arrangements, well not for a while anyway!

That surely is strictly between you and your partner.
She was up much sooner than me.
