I might be about to be blown up... We have had no siren... but there is smoke from BP in the village... on the humerous side (assuming all is fine handled and no one is hurt) Hamble is on a peninsular so if things are travelling down the main road they can only be going to the village as it does not go elsewhere..
I did post office run just before continuing up to the school and police, fire, ambulance roared down the lane... after post office, several police and another ambulance went down... it is raining hard ... so the public car park at the school is full so is the layby, so then they all park 1/2 on the road 1/2 on the grass pavement where they should not....
Anyhoo coming out of school and it is like world war 3 out there several fire engines coming down the lane not only with woo woos on but blasting horns too (as it is kick out time at the local factory so the road is jammed, which is made worse by the double yellow parking by parents) the fire engines were not messing in wanting to get through... lots of parents will not be driving their cars to school Monday... as they may have been shunted by one or several fire engines.
I thought it would be in poor taste to stand and applaud...
I know I am going straight to hell
p.s. Apparently it is bad car accident outside the BP terminal I do hope they are all ok
