I've just about managed to get my new laptop with Windows 8 to behave in a Windows 7 kind of way. But I've no idea how I managed to end up with a pink Firefox and a lilac toolbar. Oh, and why does the scroll work in the opposite direction to my old one?

How many celebrated International Penguin Day today?

Is it easy enough to get the film developed for them still?

I used to do it myself but don't have the equipment anymore.
35mm is easy enough it can still be done on the high street but medium format might be trickier............it was over £10 for 12 to 15 prints 'back in the day' that's why I sold my Mamiya to a mate..... Lubitel is in the loft somewhere

i get mine done by Lomo. they have a lab close to work, alas, it's moving. they are used to 'interesting' film formats and strange exposures. they also scan the negatives and email/dropbox the files. very handy. they charge £8 for standard 35mm, £9 for 120 and £10 for 35mm with sprocket holes/panoramic shots. B&W is £2 extra. that is for processing and scanning. not cheap, but they are good, especially with the DIY camera where the shots tend to overlap and the exposure can be quite diverse from shot to shot.

there are still a few film labs around - the Lomo site has a list of labs they recommend on their site.

i may start to do my own B&W - as i'll just be processing the film and not printing i don't need a darkroom. i can then scan the negs.

the Lomo Lab do a post service too, so i'll probably have to use that now the actual lab is heading further to east london.

Yep, you'll be just fine there, it'll take you about 30 minutes to learn how to thread a reel for 120, and a lifetime to perfect that skill. There used to be a whole range of developers to get any number of fine nuances from your film, and each film had its own special characteristics. As well as pushing and pulling your development, and when the stop bath goes in, and temperature, and toning, and what not. You could devote a whole website to it
