Did your employer pay for part of the taxi fare? That should not make any difference though. Service paid for & they were unable to supply that service. At the very least the train company should have laid on alternate means of getting the passengers at least to the next station where they can continue their journey. Not always the next one down the line, or the nearest.
Request a form the next time you're at the station, fill it in & hand it in.
