He's been there since I ruptured a disk in my back leaving me bedbound. I don't sleep particularly well (pain, drugs being taking at all hours) and can't negotiate the stairs without assistance, so i have pretty much lived out of the bedroom since the disk ruptured, other than a brief spell in hospital for an operation. He gets the sitting room so he actually gets some sleep.
Aw that's horrid for you both. I do hope things heal up soon and normality can be reinstated

How are things now? Are you making progress and how long before you are recovered?

Things are stationary. I have at least lost the pins and needles which were permanently down the right leg, at least until I try sitting up for more than 5 mins, but still lack strength from nerve damage in that leg - it can't support me. I can't stand/walk even with the aid of 2 crutches for more than 25 mins and spend roughly 22-23 hrs a day in bed.

Progress probably needs another operation and is unlikely to be before well into summer, sadly.

This is the 3rd morning in a row that the birds have started to really twitter for a dawn chorus.
I think the birds here might be lost in the snow. Got a few inches now.
Don't know what to put on my feet for walking. I seem to have extremely bony and sensitive ankles and the snow boots I bought the other day rubbed me raw yesterday  Really struggle to find comfy boots that don't rub. Oh well, back to just sturdy shoes this morning and wet feet I suppose.

I've just thrown some bread and crumpets out for the birds.

I also have exceptionally thin ankles which causes no end of issues with shoes and boots as well, so you have my sympathies. I have reached the conclusion that all I can wear is 1 of 3 sets of boots/shoes. Either my mountaineering boots, my soft hiking boots which I walk and cycle in or my fabric hiking shoes which I also walk and cycle in. Luckily the latter can be picked up 2nd hand off eBay for next to nothing when people decide to wear them once and sell them, so my list set only cost me £10 instead of the +£100 they retail at!

Are you missing a 'to' or an 'on', Carl? Hopefully not a 'with' with the 'to' either! Normally, one glosses over literals as the context is an open and shut case...usually, but I can't get a handle on your particular instance...it all hinges upon the missing words.

Ah, that's better.

You have far much time on your hands.
