I agree, testing is important. I've spent my whole working life either as a software engineer or v&v (aka 'test') engineer. I work for a large company that builds air traffic control systems, and we work with millions of lines of C/C++, Ada and Java code, linked by JNI and similar interface libraries. We do thorough testing at the code development, integration and system levels, because of the importance of the systems we build. You may have noticed from all of this that I enjoy my job! I'm still on holidays, but couldn't resist writing 2 apps in C++ the last few weeks, a desktop background randomiser, and an OpenGL screen saver.As an it engineer , the test I was referring to was that it was of some use after going through all of that. Backups are useless unless tested... And I hate incremental backups
