I've read that when recently asked at a Q&A session if he thought the comedy was funny the BBCs Director of Comedy remained silent.Rumour has it they want to axe it. It's been on the air for thirteen years.
I've seen bits of it and it does seems about as funny as having teeth pulled but apparently millions watch it and the beeb simply can't kill it off.
Anyone a fan on here? Is it past it's time and should should be consigned to the bin or is it still good for a titter.

Don't watch BBC output as I don't have a TV license.

It's been called a comedy for people that 'clap when the plane lands' and 'about as funny as Polio'.
Hugo Rifkind of The Times described its festive specials as 'the now traditional unmitigated s***house of fatuous a***'.
Yet it pulled in audiences of 11m Iin 2012/13. How can this be?

I've just realised why I quite like it and watch from time to time. It takes me back to my first favourite comedian I used to listen when it was tapes. (Remember they days?) Hector Nicol was class and had me in stitches.
