I jet washed all the salt from underneath mine today, I used a Ryobi cordless jet washer with a bucket of really hot water and this seemed to shift it, as I ride all year round it does collect everywhere, don’t worry I keep away from all the bearings!

It’s 11 years old this year and after 5 years of ownership I am probably ready to change it, but after trying lots of other stuff, all roads come back to another S1000R so I’m going to just buy a later lower mileage version of mine!

I had a Jawa/Velorex outfit. Silly thing taught me why vehicles should have an even number of wheels, what a death trap. It was one of about five Jawas.

I did try a three wheeler again. A Piaggio MP3 500. Each tune up on that thing cost more in parts then my Enfield used in the 76000km I put on it and it was still going strong when I sold it. The Piaggio was junk in 50000.

actually, who am I kidding, the Piaggio was junk when it was new.

The best man and maid of honour were on a Honda 900F super sport with the baffles pulled out of its track pipe… so we sounded like a war coming down the road.

And me! I took my son out and ended up at Hangar 3 cafe at Old Sarum, the scene of my parachute jump 2 years ago. We had a lovely, chilled ride, nice lunch, saw some old planes and new bikes and I came home with a topbox full of beer!
