it depends on the lane. And, yes, you're right - not all the Zil Lanes are in Park Lane - but their disposition suggests that they have one purpose, which is to convey the very bigwigs who didn't turn up to claim their free seats to the games.

I do find the lanes annoying, but not enough to put myself into trouble and the whole ticket fiasco is a source of great upset after applying for £1500 for tickets and getting none. But I am not going to get arrested for it!

Zil lanes after communist Russia

Back in the good old bad old days certain lanes in Moscow were reserved for government officials, who were conveyed in chauffeur-driven Zil limousines

Damn - beaten by Uncle Mort. And I only got to see one from the footpath.
So, the communist inspired lanes are being objected to by a bunch of...trotskyists? I never did get this communism thing!

I take it you won't be coming on a night ride any time soon?

I am there like a buckfast bottle on a Scottish night on any events which is promoting bike riding and the environment issues. Hence, I don't think I will join you in your enterprise. You and your contributions here is the Exxon Valdez of this good cause. So I will respectfully decline your offer and support the bike riding and environment cause instead.

Well, since I was on the TfL Active Travel Group I can tell you that in 2006 that was the target. We were going to have the most cyclingest Games one could imagine.

Erm Dell, the stadium holds 80,000 people; just where would they leave their bikes ? And how would they find them afterwards ?

It is less funny that actions of some morons is sabotaging and setting back a good cause by years. In the meantime, our planet is getting destroyed and bike riders is getting seriously hurt and killed in the traffic. That because of some "high jinks" and excuses for public disorder which is not based on facts. The zil lanes was also set up as a response to the Atlanta 96 fiasco where many athletes did not arrive in time to their events. Another fact "mislaid" in another, secterian agenda.

That is provoking me to defend what I believe in. Which is safe bike rides and the fight to save our planet from it's demise.

..... or have you been sarcastic and ironic all the way ? In that case, I can only say you really got me there. Good on you !!! :surrender:
Never counted. Why?

So you are attributing it all to CM?
no, but I'm saying the contribution made by CM was substantial

and I may not be alone. I've met all the top cycle campaigners at CM - the people who run the LCC, Jenny Jones, and people from the campaigns department at CTC.
