Strange........ the cabbies and the shop owners is also claiming the same lanes as their own. With some good justifications too. How many of them has been arrested again, did you say ? 182 ? How many of the cabbies and shop owners has violent attacked polices officers ? Or maybe you don't want to answer that as the answers reveals your hypocrisy.
you're a regular one man lynch mob! When somebody's convicted (or even charged) get back to me.......

could we perhaps have an Olympics founded on sustainable transport? Oh, sorry, that was exactly the basis on which the bid was won! .And, now I come to think of it, the target for people cycling and walking to the Olympics was 20%. What happened to that?

And that is a direct answer to my question how?

They are using sustainable vehicles - electric vehicles, unless of course you believe sticking them all in private jets and helicopters would be more sustainable?

Tube passengers would be counted as people arriving by foot - not entirely honest, but there you are.

As Greg mentioned earlier, there is an (undeniable) requirement for motorised road users, to recognise and have an appreciation for the needs of cyclists.

It seems to me though, that there is a conflict of priorities - those of cyclists v the 'needs' of business & commerce. So far as road use goes (in a city), cyclists' needs are always going to be of fairly low priority.

Can anyone in living in London really be surprised, when they experience high levels of motorists - some of whom (possibly many), show poor driving skills ?

If you live in London, surely road congestion goes with the turf ?

London is a World centre for Banking/Commerce & Business; it is on the back of this, that the citizens (such as Dell) make a living.

I don't agree with the concept of Zil lanes; but that is the kind of thing that happens in large cities, when 'bigwigs' start on the 'freebies'. Is it wrong ? Yes ! (imo), but I'm certainly not surprised that it happens.

Dell chose to live in London; it is a huge, densely populated & incredibly busy city - possibly not the best place to live in, if you are a keen cyclist.
And you attribute all of that to CM?

In Birmingham (because that's my example) far more has been done to improve cycling by the CC members who live there than has ever been achieved by CM.
the confidence that thousands of cyclists gained from riding in CM is no small thing. Remind me...........how many commuting cyclists are there in Birmingham?

As I thought, Dellzeqq. You will not answer because the facts will just reveal your hypocrisy and stupidities. You and your actions is nothing but a betrayal of a just cause.

Well, since I was on the TfL Active Travel Group I can tell you that in 2006 that was the target. We were going to have the most cyclingest Games one could imagine.

And, no, sorry, I don't think conveying the powerfully rushed to the Games is more important than me, you, the people who live along the Zil Lanes or anybody else. If they don't want to ride a bike they can take the tube, the bus or the Javelin

I do not agree. Many drivers drive in a selfish and inconsiderate manner much of the time and most fail UTTERLY to follow the HC on dealing with vulnerable road users. And urban speed limits are too hiigh. imo ime
And I thought I'd had some bad experiences lately at the hand of crap drivers!

I still experience more consideration than crap from drivers though. I certainly agree urban speed limits should be lower and policed. Greg. We could be soulmates.

But who ever rides a bike in the far right lane anyway?

Please. Why are they called 'Zil Lanes'?
Back in the good old bad old days certain lanes in Moscow were reserved for government officials, who were conveyed in chauffeur-driven Zil limousines

Damn - beaten by Uncle Mort. And I only got to see one from the footpath.
