No wheelbarrow treats this time, then.

Someone else will have to take up that mantle 😀

Still waiting for heart surgery but according to my consultant my symptoms will kick in whilst doing exercise before I can do any damage  and I have no problem doing 20 mile rides on the turbo so I might just risk entering and hope everything gets sorted before the end of March.

Well I guess, at a stretch, one could say that I (teamwork) gave every rider their dropbags (and labels) and I (teamwork) handed them all back (apart from the hundreds (440) which riders had paid to be posted back to them).
(Sea) Harriers were few and far between over Ajax Bay/San Carlos Water: very sensibly: given the PWO(A)s of the ships and the Rapier FPs on the surrounding hills. WAFUs (FW) sensibly stay well away from a AAW/Army GD envelope.

Me too, with similar reasoning; and a clear target to motivate on the days and months ahead.
Mulling over where to aim for to stop on Monday early morning. Last time (2017) I booked a Travelodge: arrived at 0100 (from a noon start) had an efficient shower, a great sleep in sheets and away by 6 to Pocklington.
One of the lessons identified from 2017 was to spend more time cycling than planning. If I learn that (a lesson is not 'learned' unless/until a change has been made and embedded) then I will have ridden many many hours by 3 August.
Nevertheless, still helping at the start (and this worked well in 2017).
If anyone else on here has volunteered and now entered, please DM me.

I was lucky and got a place on the ballot. Currently training for fast TTs... might have to switch focus soon eeek.

On Fbook, Danial said that many entered with 'guarantee' (guessing mostly 'two year' AudaxUK members and helpers from 2022), and that the residual number of available slots (for the ballot) plus plenty of interest for that too meant only a 30% success rate. In a previous post he said that he expected a fair few of the 'guaranteeds' not to pay by 31 January and would pull riders forward (by ballot) from a pool of those who responded to the 'sorry' e-mail.
I'd add one final bit of information, going on previous 'insight'. After that early Feb evolution is complete I doubt that there will be any 'late entries' forthcoming. Last time (2022) we/they accepted 1831 entries and only 1511 started: a higher DNS rate than expected: considered a combo of Covid effects and visa difficulties. The expectation that a % will DNS (February to July) so no intent to back fill.

Yeah I can't call it at the moment. There are 750 people left to pay for their places, and a similar number waiting in the wings for those places. So I expect there be some unsold places by 1 Feb but I'm not sure how many yet. IIRC there is a rush to pay at the end of this period, but I cannot remember exactly how it went last time (and cannot be bothered to work it out).
