That is so that if a rival manufacturer spots it and photographs it, it's very hard to make out body panel shapes etc. so less likely to be cloned copies ripped off etc

For those who fancy riding 1500km in little over 5 days in August, the main ballot for LEL is now open. (Link) .

I've read the blogs, & watched the vlogs to vicariously understand the pain and tribulations of riders struggling to reach the end before the time runs out. It looks brutal, but that pain would make the experience so much sweeter when crossing the finishing line. It's my number 1 cycling goal, hence my name went into the early bird ballot last year.

Alas, I've formally withdrawn from the 2025 event, because even with months off work in summer 2024, I didn't achieve the level of fitness I'd want to attempt LEL, and a new bike hasn't entirely solved my neck comfort issues. I'll consider my options and hopefully give it my best go in 2029.

Time to make a decision! Think I'm in this time. Really enjoyed PBP (after a 12-year gap), I think I fancy another "big field" event - hopefully this one will have interesting scenery and more than 1 type of bread :-P

I am planning to do it. I'm also a bit concerned at some back and neck pain that kicks in after 100 miles, especially on night rides, but I still want to give it a go. If I don't try it then I will always wonder how I might have done.
