Nah! Not a chance the police aren't interested in bike crime.

I believe the OP is not interested in the bike anymore, he is in love with the lock & is having a clandestine affair with it, hence his reluctance to damage it in anyway. Wednesday is just a rouse, what will happen then is the mechanic is going to cut the bike frame in half along with the railing in order to release the beloved lock.

But you've got to remember that he's already enquired about removing his bike, so they're aware of the fact that someone wants to remove it. The easy part is just happen to have an officer, that is unaware of what has been said before, walk down the street whilst he's cutting the lock.
100% detection rate, having caught him in the process as well.

A while ago I walked a mile holding bolt croppers to 'release' my wife's bike (jammed cheap D lock) cut it free (surprisingly easily) put the bolt croppers in the basket and road a ladies town bike back to my house.... without anyone questioning my actions

Was the bike there, today, complete & without any damage to it?

At least it doesn't seem to mind the rain. Any idea on how you're going to liberate it yet, hacksaw, boltcutters or angle grinder?
Have you given any further thought to "raking" the lock?

I wanted pictures of this poor defenceless bike being held against it's will. We are with you brother.
I expect a liberating picture,so we the people may see that justice has been served and the innocent have been freed from their shackles :tongue:eace
