Go buy a hacksaw from wickes man!!!
Aerobic workout and muscle building in one.
Junior hacksaw, blade reversed, cut the railing & bend it until he's able to rove the lock. Bend railing back into place & cover the cut with some dirt.
Who'd know?

I can't wait until Wednesday to know the poor bike is free. I couldn't sleep last night for worrying.
Please release it sooner, poor wee bike is probably scared out of its wits an a bit chilly too:cold:

I have passed on all your messages of concern, and bike says he's very touched and thanks to everyone and please don't worry, he's really quite comfortable and not the least bit worried, and very happy to wait until Wednesday. So that's that for now.

Just out of curiosity, have you put another lock, one that works with the key just in case someone has mucked about with the lock?

Don't add to the tension and worry.
Well how would you feel if he came back & said it was gone?
Thats why I said a working lock.

So he should really go down with 2 D locks to be sure

I'm sitting here worried about the poor bike now - how could the OP leave it there for so long????
I may have to report him/her to the RSPCB (royal society prevention cruelty bikes) ;)

One working lock, to prevent anyone from leaving with it. If that should jam when he's cutting the lock off, he's got the means to remove that one as well, with him.
