macs can be obscure, my laptop at home is fine as it sits right in front of me, but the one at work hides under the desk

the macbook air is, i agree, something that's a bit 'out there', perhaps a lamp swung over the future.

other macs are perfectly designed for modern computing, so just because the os isn't windows that doesn't make them "wierd".

try and do a day's work on one and think again.

if it does what you need it to do, that's fine.

i'm not at all worried that mine can't launch the space shuttle or control the lhc, it does what i need and that's all that counts. i do need it to be a macintosh, for various reasons. if a £300 laptop from aldi does it for you, chapeau.
