Well after waking up the centre of Earls Barton this morning at 6 am due to extra loud squeaky brakes I fitted the Koolstop pads this afternoon and we have now have quieter stopping 😊.

In my, limited, experience it would take more than some screeching brake blocks to wake up Earls Barton. But I am biased my Aunt and uncle used to live in the throbbing metropolis that is Raunds

Believe you me they were very loud .

Strange how you mention Raunds as that's where this bike came from .

Been sent this interesting magazine article so i thought i would share it

I got contacted over the weekend on faceache if I knew anyone that might be interested in a bike that had just been unearthed in a shed .

So once I saw a picture I said yes please and have just collected it .

It's an R.E.W Reynolds that looks to have been made by Woodrup but just waiting for confirmation on that .


Looks like original condition with a nice seat cluster full 531 tubing , sloping fork crown .

10 speed gearing 27" wheels and large flange hubs what's not to like ?

New tyres , a couple of cable clips , and a clean should see it .

I think so , makes interesting reading if you can see it

Being using this R.E.W when damp recently and just missed a 50 mile ride this morning , so I will try again tomorrow.

I was also thinking that there can't be many cc ers who can e mail the guy who made the frame and tell them how well an old frame of there's rides still .
