Odd how cycling has this [stuck up] attitude towards wearing replica team kit, whereas in other sports it's accepted as a show of support.

If anyone seriously thinks you are a pro-cyclist from what you wear, then they must think that fat bloke in the football shirt in the pub is really David Beckham.
- not David Beckham, just very

I am thankful that my club has nice kit, because I would hate to feel duty bound to wear the monstrosities many club cyclists wear!

A couple of years ago i didnt join the nearest and most convenient club purely because they have white on the arse of their shorts and it is not the thickest of lycra.

  1. Rule #16
  2. // Respect the jersey.
  3. Championship and race leader jerseys must only be worn if you’ve won the championship or led the race.

  4. Rule #17
// Team kit is for members of the team.
Wearing Pro team kit is also questionable if you’re not paid to wear it. If you must fly the colors of Pro teams, all garments should match perfectly, i.e no Mapei jersey with Kelme shorts and Telekom socks

If all black shorts weren't allowed, I don't blame you !

Used to be a combination jersey in the Tour de France and Giro, wish they would bring it back!
Think LeMond is wearing it here

I quite like some of the pro team jerseys and think they can look quite smart on the bike; however, guys that turn up to club rides in FULL pro team kit (e.g. jersey, shorts, socks, mitts, arm warmers.......etc.) do make me laugh and I do think they look silly! Mix and matching pro team kits would be an even bigger sin.

Not quite the same. Besides I think any sport should pay us for the advertising not the other way round. I am happy in anything that fits, is comfy and is usually visible in bad conditions. I am not usually keen on multi coloured garments cycling or otherwise, it's in the name really.

Hows it not the same
