At the risk of appearing emotionally dead... This one is every bit as dreadful as all of the others. Irritating song. Goes on for far too long (I suspect the same will be true even when they show the cut-down version), and tries too hard to be cute.

But then I'm not a fan of Christmas, so what do I know?

You are wise and sensible beyond your years.

But Christmas does have that side to it, and at the moment I have the wafts of mincemeat cooking, filling the house with those smells associated with Christmas, they all add to the general feel of Christmas. And that's why we wouldn't want it all year long!

I'd forgotten how clever the first one was.

Pester power

True enough.

The £95 ones are 50cm tall which is pretty massive for a teddy. I don't know enough about soft toys to know if that's a fair price?

Either way a bit of an own goal. They could have donated 50% of profits to WWF for example and come out looking like the saviours of penguins.

Urgh. Makes me glad I don't have a TV. One of my main objections to Christmas is the money-grabbing, profiteering aspect of it. I think of all the families who are facing a Christmas fed by foodbanks and the fact that 90,000 children in the UK alone are going into this winter without a permanent home and it puts a different spin on how much we spend on tat for just one day of the year.

This pitch for an "alternative" version was in my twitter timeline this morning. Perfect.
