Well if you get off and walk you are a pedestrian. Straight ahead no problem. Diversion probably goes via M25.

I don't think I have ever seen specific diversion signs for cyclists before!!!

I mean - as we know - it is not unknown for diversions to go on route that are not suitable for cyclists so it is nice to see bikes being thought of.

Although it does look like you could just jump off and walk through then jump on again

I wish they would be as clear at the junction I most commonly use. At the moment, the works could be out of 1/2 mile uphill or downhill and no clue on any given day where they will be. Grrrh!

I had an interesting experience on a road closure (HS2) recently. There were big road closed signs but I thought I'd chance it and asked one of the workmen if I could get through. He ushered me on.

About 200m later another big road closed sign but this time with the words "Except for Cyclists". Well you could have told me that earlier.

Another 100m a big fence right across the road. Bah! Just as I pulled up, looking for a gap another workman appeared and opened a gap in the fence just for me. Personal service!

Last time I did that a jobsworth council worker stopped me and tried to show his authority. No real reason as they were just finishing up and the road was clear. He was just being a nob.

We have the Lancashire versions! Mostly it's a smile and a nod..........and then there's the jobsworth.
