Day trip to Arran today
Did the figure of 8 with a café stop at the Machrie Bay tearoom.
Great weather apart from an annoying headwind at part

Following the Lakes tour I had a magic second holiday in Japan for the past ten days. Mostly walking but also a great day on the bike on Friday. Hope to get the time to write up a proper post (with pictures!) sometime in the coming week.

Currently in Schiphol where I have been upgraded to business class for the short hop home .

Tomorrow work is sending me off to Florida... Biggest jetlag challenge yet!

I would like a route from Glasgow to Stirling without major A roads and without that "Talk Ma" something mega hill that Cyclestreets wants to send me up.
Any suggestions, per favore? :notworthy:
This one ok? What's the big hill at the end?

Don't know that hill, but you can avoid it by staying on the canal a bit longer, to Dennyloanhead or Bonnybridge.

Spotted - a group of cyclists for the "Teenage Cancer Trust", one of whom was wearing CycleChat shorts, going through Penicuik on Sunday. Anyone?

Yeah I'd stay on main road to Bonnybridge then through Denny. They are A roads but not terribly busy ones. Where it says to turn left at 25, I'd stay on that road and take the next left.

Oh my!
Thanks for the tips on the route to Stirling @Rasmus and @Louch.
You see, I don't want to end up like @Edwardoka, who is currently cycling in the dark off road on his touring bike, not by design, of course.
Actually I'm a bit worried about him, he says he's ended up in a canyon, "My current GPS coordinates are 41.970634, 2.502319, heading east."
Hope he gets out alive

Yep.

Two aborted landing attempts. Diversion. Uncertain tarmac delay. Eventual abandonment (seems one plane tried to land at my destination and skidded off the runway). Finding a hotel room at half past midnight. Hire car this morning to get to the customer site.

Interesting....

Oh well, at least I am here. Time to research bike hire options for the weekend.

Any injuries, that you're aware of?
