, I mean, the perpetual drunk Scotsman is an urban myth, everybody knows that
Talking of stereotypes, I was thinking of you today when I heard the Coffee Pot in Stornoway was closing down, the last Italian cafe in the place, run by a man whose forebears had started the business 100 years ago. The owner sounded quite sad as he recalled the history and the changes that had overtaken his business.

Why did he close down?

Fewer people in the town centre due to out of town shopping and cafes in supermarkets, so his takings were down. I would think he would be of retiring age and health was mentioned too. I used to be a regular when working over there .

^_^

That'll be the new Tesco's megastore then ;)

There's coffee shops opening up everywhere at the moment - not on a Sunday though

A weekend off and the sun was shining. Cross bike to the wind farm yesterday and an out and back on the road bike to Callanish stones today:smile:

Did you lot go out cycling?
Wish I had, then I wouldn't have twisted my ankle:sad:, but I wouldn't have found the putrid remains of a whale on the rocks either. The sharp eyed may see behind the cormorants the Duke of Sutherland monument on the skyline, left.

Nice to have a chance encounter with @Telemark as I rode to a bike shop to assist a young lady pick up her bike on the CoEC C2W scheme. All completed successfully and quite a good deal too: select a bike, hand over the voucher from the cooncil, then Evans add £40 of accessories, 1x 6 week service, 2x £60 annual services all free. Evans Staff were pretty clued up and young lady (work colleague of Mrs Scoosh's) is now a proud owner of a nice Fuji Absolute 50/34 hybrid. I had cycled up to Evans, then back as escort on the Cycle path - just as well, as the front mechanical disc cable became very slack and brake wouldn't work, so stopped off at home and fixed it and checked all other cables, screws etc. All in, I did about 23km  !!! Long distance rider, me ... :bicycle:

Was a lovely sunny, clear, dry, windless day but pretty :cold: in the morning with thick frost on the car before the sun came round.
